ATS adds 3 new dedicated resources to its Farsi (Persian) translation and localization team.
In response to a growing demand for Farsi translation and localization, Afghan Translation Service has signed up 3 dedicated resources to work full time on its Farsi (Persian) projects. The need for English to Farsi and Farsi to English language sets has been growing fast driven mainly by the politics and economy of the region.
Farsi or Persian is an Indo-European language spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and partly the Persian Gulf states.
Farsi and its varieties have official-language status in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan. According to CIA World Factbook, based on old data, there are approximately 72 million native speakers of Persian in Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan and about the same number of people in other parts of the world speaks Farsi. UNESCO was asked to select Persian as one of its languages in 2006.
The new resources that are added to Afghan Translation Service’s Farsi team bring a wealth of experience and expertise in the area of Farsi to English and English to Farsi translation, each bringing a university degree in literature or linguistics and an attitude to handle any kind of projects.
